It’s Folklorama here in Winnipeg, and while you’re planning out how to (legally) hit up three pavilions in one night, let the designers at Studio b plan the space to host your awesome afterparty. There are a variety of ways to create an area to entertain large groups, even when space is at a premium. And you don’t have to turn your yard into a parking lot to do it!

The most effective space-saving method is to build seating right into your landscape design; permanent elements such as low walls and benches eliminate the need for cumbersome folding chairs. Many retaining walls can be designed to serve as both earth barriers and functional seating. Added bonus: If things get a little too rowdy at your party, you can’t throw these into the fire pit!

If you prefer a softer aesthetic, we can custom-design and construct wooden benches. These can be recessed into your walls, or anchored into black granite boulders for a more natural look. Though less durable than retaining wall blocks, these benches are typically anchored to their supports, so they likely won’t make it into the fire pit either.

 

When planning your festivities this year, remember to have enough space to sit, stay away from open flames, and veel plezier!
