Corten Steel

Corten Steel Deck Siding and Posts | B. Rocke Landscaping | Winnipeg, Manitoba

Corten steel has been in use for decades, but over the past few years an increasing number of designers and architects have been incorporating this material into their architectural and landscape projects. While the metal is both flexible and strong, its most interesting feature is how it weathers; over several years, corten steel will oxidize and produce a rust layer which covers the entire corten structure. This patina can range in color from golden brown and orange to hints or purple and deep red.

When it comes to your landscape design, we can help you find the perfect method to display corten steel into your outdoor space. This is a great way to add a modern touch to your front or back yard. It can be used for things like privacy screens, pergolas, planters, exterior house cladding, fire pits, address signs, and water features.

At Studio b, we often try to incorporate corten steel in our designs because of its versatility and aesthetic impact. There are myriad possibilities! We recently had an opportunity to design and build a custom pergola, which included an attached deck with corten steel skirting. This was a unique project and corten steel was the perfect material for this application. If you are interested in finding out how this material can be worked into your yard, just give us a call!
